Our Story

When I was six years old, my mom came roaring down the driveway one day in an old, beat-up red Jeep.

She had driven all the way back from East Tennessee.  It was a mess but it was so much fun and had so much personality.  That same day, she took it to the Jeep dealership and had them totally restore it.  Six months later, the Jeep came back from the dealership entirely restored and painted yellow – it was stunning.  It was a 1966 Jeep CJ5 with a V6 motor and we never had a top on it. We would jump in this thing and go for ice cream… with us kids sitting on the floor in the back.  This great Jeep was the original inspiration for the Yellow Jeep Company. My father had a farm and I have so many great memories of driving all over the place in the Jeep.  The Jeep was practically a childhood hero of mine – it could go through water, up hills, through logs, you name it.  Over the years, I came to love all Jeeps – WW2 Jeeps, the first civilian Jeeps, the Jeeps of the ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s, the square headlight Jeeps.  I honestly love them all.  My daily driver is a 2020 Rubicon.

The idea of the Yellow Jeep Company is to find old Jeeps, fix them up, and populate the world with more yellow Jeeps.  We think that’s a way to make the world a better place.  And if we can’t make the world better doing that, we’ll make red ones. That’s the Yellow Jeep Company.  We love fixing them up.  And we just think it’s fun.
